ARTICLES: Am engaged with research re travel writing. Had a positive reply from the New Orleans tourist bureau and am busy constructing a travel blog and developing ideas of articles to write from and about there. Next step is to get some magazine publishers interested.
SHORT STORY: my writing group buddies kindly gave my story 'Spider Mole' a thorough going over this week. I value their feedback immensely and now need to work on it although the deadline for a competition I'm interested in may be too soon. It is Aug 1 and I have the above mentioned articles to work on.
MEMOIR: spent most of the morning tidying up the flash drive in which all my writings are backed up, getting rid of old drafts of the novel, filing all memoir writings more efficiently. The new Travel blog will fall under the category of memoir but given the current flash drive is almost full, will have to buy another for pics and writings from the forthcoming trips.
READING: still reading about Kevin (see previous blog) it is unremittingly bleak. I don't see it ever lightening up. I was going to pass it on to my daughter who has just had a baby but I don't think that's a good idea, given the narrator's attitude to childbirth and motherhood!
