You know you're a writer when....

I meant to tell WDers last week about this list. It was in my Writing magazine and can be found at http://www.writersworkshop.co.uk I suspect it will produce a few laughs and 'aha' moments.

I'm lying in bed under the doona writing this morning, alternating between sitting up and lying down, mainly because it is so cold. I notice Barbara Cartland wrote in her bedroom, and I was watching a TV program on Douglas Kennedy yesterday who has a chaise lounge in the room where he writes, although he writes anywhere, cafe, airplane, train, restaurant etc.

This is all to say that changing one's position while writing is a very good idea, especially stretching out and lying as flat as one can in between bursts at the computer.

I was supposed to be writing more on the newly structured memoir today but got sidelined into ordering a netbook. Took an hour or more to do my research but have settled on my old faithful company Dell. Should arrive in about 10 days. I use a Dell laptop which I am very happy with but I do not want to travel with it, hence the smaller model.

I will now return to the memoir. My girlfriend and I have just crossed a snowy border via a long tunnel into Italy after a night spent trying to keep warm in a tiny Fiat with 2 South American boys.
