BTC sales

Yesterday I had a lovely morning at Better Hearing Australia talking about Better than Chocolate and the Writers' Dozen (WD). Many people were interested in the process of writing and asked many questions about it. I sold ten books, so by now there will be a nice amount in the bank to hand over to Room to Read.

This morning have worked some more on Toledo Steel. Given the competition from very good short story writers one has to hone and hone to the best one can possibly produce. I think each version is going to be the last but when I read it the next morning (always a good idea to give it some distance) I see room for improvement. It's good that I have a few more days before I have to send it in.

I should be at a WD meeting today but I'm going to see Calendar Girls instead. I miss it when I don't go to meetings, I learn so much either from members' experiences or from writing exercises and words of wisdom someone picks up in a writing magazine or online. Next time I see them will be at my 70th birthday party, yipee!!!

Now I'll have a go at the novel. Might be able to work on a chapter before I tart myself up for the trip to the city.
